You Control: Tunes 1.6.1 Released

To keep up with the changes included in You Control 1.6, we are releasing an update to You Control: Tunes, the free iTunes controller and library browsing utility. New in version 1.6.1 is the ability for users to create their own controller icon sets and includes a new controller set designed specifically for Leopard. In addition, You Control: Tunes 1.6.1 offers several bug fixes and enhancements for both Leopard and Tiger users.

Today we’re announcing the immediate availability of You Control 1.6, the award-winning utility for creating custom menus on the Mac. This update delivers fixes to provide compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) and its new features. For example, the Calendar module in You Control can now read the new Leopard iCal file format for quick access to all of your calendars directly from the menubar. In addition, You Control 1.6 offers a number of bug fixes and enhancements for both Leopard and Tiger users.

You Control: Fonts 1.3 and You Control: Tunes 1.6 are also both Leopard-compatible (they were released in December). The Leopard-compatible version of You Control: Desktops 1.3 is in public beta testing and should be available shortly.

We have posted the sixth beta of You Control 1.6 to wrap up some final issues.

This addresses issues that have been found with the You Control and Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5). We believe this release addresses all of the known issues with Leopard. While this release is primarily focused on updates to address Leopard compatibility issues, it also contains some updates for Tiger users as well. Please refer to the list of fixes for what has changed.

Fixes in this build

    Tunes:

  • Improved reliability of playing a track when iTunes isn’t running
  • Playlists now display their tracks in the order they appear in the playlist (they had been alphabetized)
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Finder to launch when playing a track
  • Clock:

  • Fixed a bug on Leopard that would cause the world time zones list to appear unsorted
  • General:

  • Assorted minor bug fixes
