Leopard Compatibility Update

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

We just wanted to give you a quick update from our initial post on where we are in getting all of You Software’s applications updated for Leopard compatibility. Once we received the final version of Leopard, we were able to find a few specific issues affecting parts of the applications, though the shipping versions are usable for the most part.

We’d like to thank all of our users for their patience as we get updates of these applications built and tested. Please keep an eye on our home page and this blog for additional updates.

The one general compatibility issue in all the applications is a bug affecting setting hot keys via the menus which can cause a crash. This issue has been solved; the fix will appear in each application as updates are released.

If you have issues that are not mentioned here that have not been reported, please contact us via email at support@yousoftware.com so we can evaluate the problems and get them corrected.

You Control

In an earlier post, we have announced the first beta release of You Control 1.6. This addresses the majority of issues found with You Control; please read that post for what has been fixed (and known remaining issues).

You Control: Desktops

In general, You Control: Desktops appears to be working in Leopard. We are investigating a couple of user-reported issues that we are still researching and have an update in the works. Updates to You Control: Desktops will be rolled into the ongoing You Control: Desktops 1.3 beta release cycle.

Note that we currently do not support running Spaces and You Control: Desktops simultaneously, so when you run You Control: Desktops, make sure Spaces is disabled first.

You Control: Fonts

You Control: Fonts has two minor issues with not properly showing your FontBook collections and Favorites. These issues will be addressed in an upcoming update. In addition, there is the general problem with setting hot keys in the menus. We expect to have an update available shortly addressing these issues.

You Control: Tunes

The two issues with You Control: Tunes are unrated stars in the menu bar have a white background and the issue with setting hot keys in the menu. Both of these issues have been addressed in the Tunes module in You Control 1.6 b1; we’ll have a stand-alone You Control: Tunes release with these same fixes available shortly.
