We have released the first beta of You Control 1.8. This is primarily targeted at addressing a known Snow Leopard compatibility issue.

We have released the second beta of You Control and You Control: Tunes 1.7.2. This is a maintenance release to address several issues with the 1.7.1 release. Note that the first beta for You Control: Tunes 1.7.2 was not released to the public.

Here’s what’s new in this release:
Tunes
- [New] Holding down the Option key in while clicking on the controls in the menu bar will toggle the Ratings stars on and off.
- [New] Added new tag for larger images in the Overlay (XLARGE_IMAGE)
- [New] Show Overlay menu command now toggles to Hide Overlay, so the same hot key can be used to both show and dismiss the overlay.
- Fixed a bug that could cause iTunes to not hide properly when it is launched by the controller to play a track.
- Fixed a bug that would cause changes made to the current track in iTunes to not be reflected in the overlay.
- Updated black and white overlay
Fonts
- Minor fixes for better compatibility when running Fonts module within You Control
General

The first beta release of You Control: Desktops 1.3.1 is now available. This is a maintenance release to address several issues with the 1.3 release.

The first beta release of You Control: Tunes 1.7.1 is available. It contains the same iTunes-related fixes included in the full You Control release.

The sixth beta release of You Control: Desktops 1.3 is now available. This update includes a number of Leopard compatibility fixes in addition to ongoing fixes and enhancements for both Tiger and Leopard. The beta cycle for 1.3 is winding down, so if you have any issues, please report them.

We have posted the first beta of You Control 1.7. This release improves compatibility of the Calendar module with Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) and brings Microsoft Word 2008 compatibility to the Fonts module (when You Control: Fonts is installed). It also includes several additional enhancements and bug fixes in several other modules.

Fixes in this build
Calendar
- On Leopard, Calendar module now supports calendars subscribed to from iCal Server and other CalDAV servers
- On Leopard, improved interactions with To Dos created in Mail
- Calendars now load more quickly
News Reader
- Fixed some issues with parsing some feeds
- Headlines for articles are now truncated so the menus do not become very wide
- Fixed a bug that could cause headlines to be displayed incorrectly in the ticker
- Cleaned up display of descriptions in the menu
- Added new feeds to the list of preset options
Weather
- Changed the forecast to only report the last five days, as that is all that is now available from weather.com’s data feed. We are evaluating other options to provide better forecasts in a future release.
Tunes
- Fixed controller sets that were not displaying correctly
- Fixed a selection problem when changing the controller set in the configuration window
Fonts
- Added support for Microsoft Word 2008 support to Fonts. (Note that the Fonts module requires that you have You Control: Fonts installed)
General

We have posted the sixth beta of You Control 1.6 to wrap up some final issues.
This addresses issues that have been found with the You Control and Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5). We believe this release addresses all of the known issues with Leopard. While this release is primarily focused on updates to address Leopard compatibility issues, it also contains some updates for Tiger users as well. Please refer to the list of fixes for what has changed.

Tunes:
- Improved reliability of playing a track when iTunes isn’t running
- Playlists now display their tracks in the order they appear in the playlist (they had been alphabetized)
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Finder to launch when playing a track
Clock:
- Fixed a bug on Leopard that would cause the world time zones list to appear unsorted
General:
- Assorted minor bug fixes
